Maryborough Clay Target Club QLD

Welcome To Clay Target Shooting on the Fraser Coast

Welcome To The
Maryborough Clay Target Club

The club is open to the public on our practice days, we also feature regularly scheduled trap and 5 Stand tournaments on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Meet some members and see for yourself what the Maryborough Clay Target Club has to offer.

It is our hope that you will come out, whether interested in relaxation, sharpening your shooting skills, the challenge of competition participating in Trap and or 5 Stand Sporting Clays.  We are a club offering registered ACTA Trap and ACTA 5 Stand Sporting Clays.

Trap Shooting

Trapshooting, also called clay-pigeon shooting, or down-the-line shooting, is a sport in which participants use shotguns for shooting at saucer-shaped clay targets flung into the air from a spring device called a trap.

History

Maryborough Clay Target Club was originally established in 1962 at Saltwater Creek on the northern outskirts of the city. In 1978 the club moved to its present location on 9.75 hectares at Island Plantation, where it is still going strong.

5 Stand Sporting

Like Sporting Clays, 5 Stand is designed to emulate hunting scenarios using clay targets instead of live game.
